Follow the history of the valley through the art of the White Mountain School of Art, which helped transform perceptions of the region in the early 1800s. Once viewed as an ominous wilderness, the Presidential Range became a celebrated romantic American landscape through the work of these artists, inspiring generations and helping to draw millions of visitors to the White Mountains.
This FREE program is presented by Paul Mayer the Chair of the White Mountain Museum Charitable Trust, the Museum’s Docent and an art collector and is hosted by the Jackson Historical Society and the Friends of the Whitney Community Center.
