Citizen Science with NASA
Join us at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, 4/21 in the Jackson Library for an evening of doing real NASA science together!
NASA sponsors research projects that invite you to work remotely alongside scientists solving mysteries of the universe.
Using NASA and other assets and your internet enabled device, monitor the health of Earth’s climate, watch for asteroids, search for intelligent life beyond Earth, and more.
Bring your WiFi-enabled device and your friends and family members to learn how you can make your own contributions of discovery to science, while making new friends from around the world!
Focus: We will be learning and doing together ‘The Daily Minor Planet’ NASA project, which is an important search for new asteroids, as well learn about other available NASA research projects for you to participate in, at home, in your own time.
Preparation: No prior knowledge necessary.
Requirement: at least one WiFi -enabled device per group or individual attending, e.g. phone, tablet, laptop.
Age group: This event is suited to ages 8+, including students. Teams are encouraged.
