A Season to Celebrate at Jackson Ski Touring Foundation

Another remarkable winter season has ended at the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation, and it is worth taking a moment to recognize what makes JSTF such a special place in the Mount Washington Valley. Year after year, JSTF continues to stand out as one of the best destinations for cross-country skiing in Jackson NH and snowshoeing in the Mount Washington Valley, attracting outdoor enthusiasts from across New England and beyond.

Widely recognized for offering some of the finest Nordic ski trails in the White Mountains, JSTF has built a reputation as a premier family-friendly cross-country ski center in New Hampshire. That reputation exists because of the dedication, passion, and hard work of the Foundation’s volunteers and professional staff.

From the very first snowfall to the final days of spring skiing, JSTF’s team works tirelessly to create an exceptional outdoor experience for residents and visitors alike. Grooming trails before dawn, maintaining equipment, welcoming guests, organizing events, teaching lessons, and preserving the beauty of the trail network are all part of the effort that happens behind the scenes every day.

Less well known but equally important is the trail work, including grading, water mitigation, and bridge maintenance, that takes place each summer by a combined crew of volunteers and staff. All these efforts help make JSTF one of the most respected destinations for winter outdoor recreation in Jackson NH

What makes JSTF unique is that it is much more than a ski center. It is a community organization built on the belief that outdoor recreation strengthens both people and place. Families introduce children to skiing on JSTF trails. Friends gather for snowshoe outings. Visitors discover the beauty of cross-country ski vacations in New England for the very first time. Longtime skiers return year after year because of the welcoming atmosphere and the care that goes into every aspect of the experience.

The contributions of volunteers are especially important, including a 15-person Board of Directors. Their generosity of time and energy supports races, events, trail work, youth programming, and countless operational details that help the organization thrive. Combined with the professionalism and commitment of JSTF staff, these efforts ensure that the Foundation continues to grow while honoring its longstanding traditions.

As another successful season concludes, the entire community can take pride in what JSTF represents: stewardship, recreation, hospitality, and a deep love for winter in the White Mountains.
